Our First Blog Post!!

Where to begin? I have always felt called to adopt internationally - about a year ago, my husband, Shawn, began to feel the same. Within a few days of deciding to look into international adoption, we went to a Steven Curtis Chapman concert. The testimony he gave about his experience with adoption just gave a certain 'rightness' about our decision. We made it a family decision, turning to our daughter, Katie, for her opinion as well. (She's been the only kiddo for over 12 years!) She's an awesome kid, and will make a phenomenal big Sis. We have been in the paperwork process for 10 months now... this is what happens when you have lived in 5 different states!! We have finally gotten all of the paperwork apostilled, and are just waiting on our local home study agency to submit our pictures and final forms. Our fabulous adoption coordinator, Anna, emailed today that she will start the process of registering us in Moscow city. Wow, that makes it feel SO REAL. We have requested a little girl, under the age of 3. Sometimes we think we're out of our minds, but then we remember it's all about faith, and trust (and maybe a little pixie dust.. ha ha). Will keep you updated as news comes about. Keep praying!
